PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely determine the corneal abscission quantity for providing a desirable correction result by calculating the corneal abscission quantity data on the basis of the corneal curvature distribution before operation and the distribution data of objective ophthalmic refractivity in a refraction correcting operation for correcting ametropia by removing the corneal surface. SOLUTION: Prior to a refraction correcting operation, a mode changeover switch 40 is switched, the image of a subject eye taken by a CCD camera 38 is image processed by a corneal form arithmetic part 53 to perform the edge detection of a ring image that passes through P. da Consta's disc.
