PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an extremely dense sintered film in rather easy processes at a low cost by dipping a ceramic base body which is dense to a certain degree while keeping the body in such a manner that pressure on the film forming face of the body differs from the pressure on the opposite face to form B film, then drying and calcining. SOLUTION: When a dense sintered film is formed on a ceramic base body which is dense to a certain degree having <=50 (m<3> /m<2> .hr.atm) gas permeation flux Q (m<3> /m<2> .hr.atm), the film is formed by a pressure difference dipping method while controlling the pressure difference ΔP between the film forming face and the opposite face satisfying 1 atm<=ΔP<=20 atm, and then calcined. A slurry used for the dipping contains film-forming particles having a rather small particle size and film-forming particles having a rather large particle size. The average particle size of the smaller particles is 0.1 to 1 μm, while the average particle size of the larger particles is 1 to 2 μm. Thereby, a dense sintered film comprising a hardly sinterable material such as lanthanum chromite can be formed. |
