PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent detection omission of a flaw and improve detection accuracy in a flaw detection device for a flat plate. SOLUTION: This flaw inspection device has a camera 2, light 4, and an image processor 6. The camera is arranged opposite to the plate so that the front view of the surface of the plate 1 is photographed. The light 4 obliquely casts light on the surface of the plate and is arranged so that the regular reflection light of the cast light does not directly go in the camera 2. By this, a monochromatic image of density varying from white to black in the order of flaw≈valve hole outer edge > normal surface > valve hole can be obtained, and based on this density image, the existence of flaw in an image processor is judged.
