<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for catalytic hydration of an olefin using zeolite as catalyst, wherein the zeolite declined in activity and extracted from the reaction zone is subjected to reactivation treatment in an aqueous alkaline solution under hydrothermal synthesis conditions so as to improve the handleability of the catalyst after treated. SOLUTION: This method for catalytic hydration of an olefin using zeolite as catalyst involves catalyst reactivation process comprising the following procedure: at least part of the zeolite declined in activity and extracted from the reaction zone is subjected to hydrothermal synthesis conditions in an aqueous alkaline solution in the presence of sulfate group followed by, as necessary, exchanging the cation in the zeolite with desired cation. The resulting zeolite thus treated and reactivated is used in the hydration reaction again.</p> |
