PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare colloidal particles introduced with epoxy groups and an active energy radiation-curing composition using the particles. SOLUTION: An epoxy group-containing colloidal particle organic solvent liquid is prepared by allowing an inorganic oxide colloidal particle dispersed in an organic solvent to react with an epoxy group-containing silane compound in the presence of an onium compound catalyst which is substantially non- reactive with epoxy groups. Furthermore, an active energy radiation-curing composition is prepared by blending this liquid. Preferably, the inorganic oxide colloidal particle is a silica colloidal particle.
