<p>The textile fabric together with a woven glass fibre material are pressed by a roller against a cylindrical shaper together with a resin of polyester with a hardener. When hard, the resultant shell is slid off to give the roller beam for fitting with end caps, and the surface roughened to grip the fabric as it is wound into place. The purpose is to provide a lightweight fabric beam with a good strength/weight ratio.</p> |
