PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously cook the inside and outside surfaces of food by using heat in food prepn. by providing the upper part of the gridiron within an inside casing, which is internally arranged with the gridiron to form a cooking housing and is provided with a freely openable and closable peep window, with a near IR heater and far IR heater respective having radiation peaks at bands of specific wavelengths. SOLUTION: An upper heater 4, which is constituted by mounting a heating wire at a heat resistant electrically insulated pipe and is the far IR heater having the radiation peak in the band where the wavelength exceeds 1.5μm, is disposed in the upper part of an inside casing 3 disposed in an outside casing 1. An upper heater 5, which is formed by mounting the heating wire at the electrically insulated pipe and sealing gaseous halogen or gaseous argon, etc., therein and is the near IR heater having the radiation peak in the band where the wavelength is below 1.5μm, is disposed in the upper part of the inside casing 3. The lower heater 6 consisting of the far IR ray is also disposed in the lower part of the inside casing 3 at need. As a result, the simultaneous cooking of the inside and outside surfaces of the foodly using heat in food prepn. is made possible.
