PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element in which even if the gap between the upper and lower leg parts is small, sure meshing is enabled and also durability is excellent and a sufficient meshing function is held by molding a meshing head into a unique meshing shape, in the element for a slide fastener obtained by applying a monofilament made of synthetic resin to stamping. SOLUTION: A meshing head 2 of a continuous element row formed by stamping is equipped with flat section parts 2a and a meshing part 2b. The flat section parts 2a are extended toward the other part while widening width on both sides in the parallel direction of the element from the center parts of each one end of the upper and lower leg parts 3. The meshing part 2b is pinched between both flat section parts 2a and extended along the respective opposite end edges and is thin-walled in comparison with the flat section parts 2a and the tip part of the meshing part 2b is projected on both sides in the parallel direction of the element lines. When the opposite meshing element lines are meshed in such a state that the upper and lower leg parts 3 of the element are nearly closely fixed to a fastener tape, the meshing part 2b is surely engaged with a slight gap formed between the meshing head 2 of the adjacent elements and the upper and lower leg parts 3 and a crack of meshing is not caused. |
