PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently secure the occupant restricting force of an air bag device provided to a noncircular steering handle having no ring form rim. SOLUTION: A steering handle H provided at the front side of the driver seat of an automobile has a casing at the center, and grips 5L and 5R provided to the front ends of the spokes 4 extending in the lateral direction from the casing 3. When an air bag 19 housed in the casing 3 is expanded at the collision time of the vehicle, an upper casing 12 and a lower casing 13 are opened to develop the air bag 19 in a car room. Since the rear surface of the air bag 19 is supported by the left side and the right side grips 5L and 5R, and the load supports 121 and 131 of the opened upper casing 12 and the lower casing 13, the movement of the air bag 19 to the front side is blocked, and a sufficient occupant restricting performance can be exercised. |
