PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black mask, in which a film peeling, etc., do not occur, a color filter, a liquid crystal display and a process for producing the black mask. SOLUTION: This black mask has an antireflection film 3 which is formed on a transparent substrate 2 and consists of a chromium compd., a first light shielding film 4 which is formed on an antireflection film 3 and consists of metal chromium, divided films 5 which consist of a chromium compd. and a second light shielding film 6 which consists of the metal chromium. An antireflection film consisting of a chromium compd. of a different compsn. may be interposed between the antireflection film 3 and the first light shielding film 4. The chromium compds. of the antireflection film 3 and the divided films 5 contain at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a chromium oxide, chromium nitride, chromium carbide, chromium oxynitride, chromium oxycarbide, chromium nitrocarbide and chromium oxynitrocarbide. |
