PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized optical signal transmission element. SOLUTION: This optical signal transmission element for transmitting information based on a transmitting light signal and a receiving light signal, includes a light-emitting element 1e for emitting the transmitting light signal, a light- receiving element 1f for receiving the receiving light signal, a signal processing part 1g for processing the received light signal, and an enclosure member 3 for accommodating the light-emitting and the receiving elements 1e and 1f and the signal processing part 1g therein as an object 1j to be accommodated. The enclosure member 3 is provided on its outer surface side with a shielding metallic part 5.
