PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of fixing bearing to column tube which can carry out the fixing with a good assembly performance and a good assembly accuracy of a bearing to a column tube, and at a low cost. SOLUTION: A bearing 20 is fixed to a column tube 10 by passing a former process to provide a stopper 13 to prescribe the fitting amount of the bearing 20 by engaging with the inserting direction side end 21b of the outer lace 21 in the bearing 20, and pressing parts 14 to press the outer lace 21 to the diameter inner side by engaging with the outer peripheral surface 21c of the outer lace 21, at specific positions of the column tube 10 by a pressure formation; an inserting process to insert the bearing 20 in the column tube 10 at a specific amount; and a latter formation process to regulate the movement of the outer lace 21 in the axial direction by engaging a part (the front end of a tongue piece) of the column tube 10 to the anti-insertion direction side end 21 a of the outer lace 21, by pressing in a specific position (the tongue piece 12) of the column tube 10 to the inner side of the diameter. |
