摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant detection system capable of correctly detecting a short-circuit condition between a plurality of antenna electrodes arranged on seats. SOLUTION: An occupant detection system is provided with an electric field generating means 12 to generate the electric field around a plurality of antenna electrodes arranged on seats, a plurality of interface circuit Aa-Ad including a circuit to detect the information on the current running in the antenna electrodes, a switching circuit 11 in which the electric field generating means of each interface circuit is in an activated condition, and the electric field is selectively generated in each antenna electrode, a control circuit 16 to judge the seated condition of the occupant(s) based on the signal data from the interface circuits, and an airbag device 20 to set an air bag in a specified activation mode based on the result of judgment of the control circuit. The DC voltage is applied to the antenna electrodes other than the specified antenna electrode to selectively generate the electric field, and the presence/absence of the short- circuit between the antenna electrodes is judged based on the signal data from the interface circuit related to the applied voltage.</p>
