PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a simple and inexpensive fixing equipment which is superior in heat efficiency and having simple structure by providing a heating part for heating and softening toner separately from a pressure part for pressurizing and fixing the toner. SOLUTION: This fixing equipment is constituted of a heating part 1, a pressure part 2 consisting of respective upper and lower rolls 4 and 5, a light source 3, a toner 6, a paper guide 8, a condenser lens 10 and an optical fiber 11. For heating, the toner 6 directly transferred to paper 7 is softened by heat from the light source 3. Infrared rays of 0.8μm to 7.0μm which are wavelengths close to the absorption spectrum of the toner 6 are desirable, since the wavelength of the light source 3 in terms of the thermal efficiency. It is desirable to set the outside diameter of the upper roll 4 constituting the pressure part 2 to be 10 mm or larger, especially 14 mm or larger and desirable to set the outside diameter of the lower roller 5 to be 8 mm or larger, especially 10 mm or larger. It is desirable to use iron steel and aluminum alloy as material for them. Thus, the toner 6 is heated and softened directly by the light source 3 and also the pressure part 2 is separated, whereby the heat efficiency is improved.
