The barrier part (4) acting as the capture device (3) can be partially lowered from the channel (1) so that part of it lies outside the channel for cleaning whilst at the same time leaving another part extending over the entire cross-section of the channel. A device for capturing particles in a flow of gas (A) along a channel comprises a barrier part with a number of passages for the gas to pass through having a smaller cross-section than the particles being captured. A cleaning device (6a, 6b) is used to remove the particles from the particle capture surface facing the gas flow.
