PURPOSE:To obtain the subject gene capable of producing a 3-acylated macrolide antibiotic substance at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:This gene is a DNA fragment containing a gene acyA coding a 3-site acylating enzyme for a macrolide antibiotic substance, originated from a microbial strain belonging to the genus Streptomyces, having a size of about 1.8 kb or about 3.2 kb and characterized by a restriction enzyme map of the figure. The present invention also relates to a restriction DNA fragment obtained from the DNA fragment by a restriction enzyme treatment. |
