PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict excessive supplying current in relation to the current consumption of a control circuit in the case of obtaining a power source for the control circuit from the output of an inverter circuit. SOLUTION: Power is supplied to a discharge lamp La from an inverter circuit 3 through a lag phase resonant circuit 1. A power source is supplied to a control circuit 5 for controlling the inverter circuit 3 from the inverter circuit 3 through a lead phase resonant circuit 2. As the operating frequency of the inverter circuit 3 is lowered in order of preheating, starting and lighting of the discharge lamp La, the current to be supplied to the control circuit 5 through the lead phase resonant circuit 2 is reduced. |
