PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mechanical strength and to prevent changes of thermister sintered body and characteristics of glass, by coating the surface of thermister sintered body with an electrode paste comprising boric acid, glass, and metal powder, and then drying it before baking. SOLUTION: A thermister sintered body 2 whose main component is oxide of manganese, nickel, and copper is beveled so that an internal electrode 1 is exposed with sure on both end surfaces of the thermister sintered body 2. Then, on both end surfaces where the internal electrode 1 is exposed, an electrode paste wherein, with a main component being copper powder of average particle size 3±1μm, an alkaline glass of melting-point 570-630 deg.C and boric acid in powder state are added is coated for drying. Then baking is performed in a nitrogen atmosphere so that an external electrode 4 is formed on both end surface of the thermister sintered body 2. After that, on the surface of the formed external electrode 4, an Ni plating film 5 and further a solder plating film 6 are formed by electrolytic plating method.
