PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple storage device for a digital still camera capable of always storing a taken video in a semiconductor storage element, etc., in a present photographing state regardless of horizontal or vertical photographing by a user. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a CDS/AGC 30 automatically amplifying and adjusting a gain so that constant output may be always realized, an A/D converter 40 converting an analog video signal into a digital video signal, a memory 50 temporarily storing the image information of one frame, a camera position detection part 70 detecting the horizontal and vertical photographing states, a control part 60 outputting a control signal so that the taken video temporarily stored in the memory can be compressed and stored without changing the size of the image in the horizontal or vertical photographing state in accordance with the horizontal and the vertical photographing state of the camera, a compressing processing part 80 compressing the taken video stored in the memory 50, and a compressing storage memory 90 for successively storing the compressed and inputted video.
