<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image compositing system which reduces the load of synthetic processing at compositing of static images, such as subtitles for a motion picture and for karaoke with a dynamic image, and its image compositing method. SOLUTION: A storage device 10 stores compressed image data and multiplexed data of compressed sub-image data. Sub-image data, subjected to division processing in a data dividing part 11, is subjected to run length decoding processing in a sub-image decoding part 13. Decoded sub-image data is subjected to format conversion for reducing the number of times of looking up a table that is necessary for composite processing and processing, that eliminates redundant pixel data whose contrast that is included in the sub-image data is zero and which can not be seen even if it is composited. The sub-image data undergoing data conversion in the part 14 is composited at a compositing position where a main image is designated by an image compositing part 15.</p> |
