PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an IC from being damaged even if it is curved or bent by forming a space between an annular reinforcing member, which is arranged so as to surround the IC chip, and the IC chip. SOLUTION: In the IC card 1, the IC chip 3 is mounted on a substrate 2, and both faces of the IC chip 3 and the substrate 2 are covered with a sheet member 5 with an adhesive between them, and an annular reinforcing member 6 is arranged so as to surround the IC chip 3. Further, the IC chip 3 and the reinforcing member 6 are covered with a sealer 7 consisting of a soft resin material. It is preferable that the bending stiffness of the reinforcing member 6 is higher than that of the IC chip 3. By this material selection, the reinforcing member 6 receives almost all an external force and is minutely deformed to absorb it and prevents a stress from being applied to the IC chip 3 when the external force is applied near the IC chip 3, and this material selection contributes to prevention of damage of the IC chip. |
