PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type color liquid crystal bright display by arranging a volume type phase transmission hologram in the front or the rear of a color filter not only to give a desired characteristic (divergence or convergence) to display light but also to emit the display light in a direction other than the reflection direction of illuminating light on a liquid crystal panel surface. SOLUTION: A volume type phase transmission hologram 5 having a diverging function is arranged in the front or the rear of a color filter 4 for a liquid crystal panel 2, and illuminating light which is made incident on the reflection liquid crystal display with angle selectivity is diffracted in the hologram at the time of incidence on the liquid crystal panel 2, and emitted display light is not diffracted but transmitted, and thus, directions of the visual field and emitted light are controlled to realize easy-to-watch bright display. |
