PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system for semiconductor laser and a semiconductor laser module which efficiently condense the laser beam from a semiconductor laser to improve the efficiency of coupling to an optical element in the following stage. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser module is provided with a semiconductor laser 10 which generates a laser beam which has a spread angleθv in the perpendicular direction and a spread angleθp in the parallel direction with respect to an active layer 11, an optical system 20 which condenses the laser beam from the semiconductor laser 10, an optical fiber 30 to which the laser beam condensed by the optical system 20 is introduced, etc., and the optical system 20 consists of a lens 21 which controls only the spread angleθv, a lens 22 which controls both the spread angleθv and the spread angleθp, etc.
