PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical pickup device equipped with a light source unit of constitution capable of properly aligning each of elements. SOLUTION: A package main body 21 of a package 20 in a light source unit 10 of an optical pickup device is a molded work piece in which a semiconductor laser 2, a sub-mount 24, a reference surface 30 for prescribing the position of a semiconductor substrate 11 and attaching surfaces 33 and 36 of diffraction elements 13 and 14 are simultaneously formed. When each of the diffraction elements 13 and 14 is attached to the attaching surfaces, the attaching positions and the postures of the diffraction elements 13 and 14 are automatically prescribed. Also, since mutual positional relation and angular relation or the like between the reference surface 30 and the attaching surface is highly accurate, positional relation between the semiconductor laser 2a and each of the diffraction elements 13 and 14 is also accurately prescribed. |
