PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which can always make a light image display on a liquid crystal panel adequately coping with light intensity conditions and an incident light direction in the use environment. SOLUTION: A reflecting plate providing at the back of a liquid crystal panel 1 reflects external incident light on the surface of the liquid crystal panel 1 and illumination light from an illumination light source 6 to light up the liquid crystal panel 1 from the behind and to display a display image on the liquid crystal panel 1. Light which is made incident on an optical auxiliary board 10 fitted in a free opening/closing state to the lower edge side of the liquid crystal panel 1 is reflected by a light reflecting mirror plate 11 toward the liquid crystal panel 1 and made incident on the liquid crystal panel 1 by releasing the optical auxiliary board 10 at a specific angle to the liquid crystal panel 1 to increase the illumination light by a reflecting body provided at the back of the liquid crystal panel 1 and then a liquid crystal display function is improved to enable light and easy-to-see image display. When the optical auxiliary board 10 is closed by covering the surface of the liquid crystal panel 1, the liquid crystal panel 1 is prevented from damaging due to a shock and becoming dirty with dust and foreign matter. |
