PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inter-channel crosstalk in a wavelength division multiplex WDM system with respect to the optical transmitter, the terminal station and the system applicable to the WDM. SOLUTION: The system consists of a light source 20 that outputs a light beam, an optical modulator 24 that modulates the light beam with the main signal to provide an output of an optical signal, and a means 46 that interrupts the optical signal when the means 46 receives at least either a power alarm relating to ON/OFF of power supply on a wavelength alarm with respect to a wavelength of the light beam.
