[Also in Division A4] A porous textile floor-covering comprises a textile web or a tile having a contact adhesive on selected areas but occupying not more than 50% of the underside area of the product, the contact adhesive having low adhesion at normal temperature so that the product can be laid on the floor, adjusted thereon and lifted therefrom without damaging the contact adhesive and has a high adhesion on the application of heat to at least 50‹C., or on the application of pressure to at least 100 g/cm.<SP>2</SP> so that it can be secured to the floor. The area of adhesive may reach to the edges of the product and be disposed so that transverse cutting of the product cuts some of the selected areas. A suitable adhesive comprises ethylene/acrylate copolymer, polyisobutylene, rosin ester of glycol, microwax and butylised hydroxytoluene.</p> |
