PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the pay-broadcast receiver where useless power consumption is avoided by stopping searching when contract of a channel is expired. SOLUTION: A control section 27 of a microcomputer 17 references an individual information memory 25 and a calendar clock 29 so as to allow a tuner 5 to select a channel through which personal information of a channel whose remainder of contract term stored in the individual information memory 25 is a prescribed value or below is transmitted and to receive the personal information. Then the control section 27 discriminates whether the received individual information is contract update information or contract release information and updates the individual information in the individual information memory 25 when the individual information denotes the contract update information and deletes the individual information in the individual information memory 25 when the individual information is the contract release information. After that, the channel whose individual information is deleted is not an object of searching. |
