MEMBER AND METHOD FOR FIREPROOF TREATMENT FOR FLAMMABLE LONG OBJECT PENETRATING IN FIREPROOF PARTITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finish a fireproof treatment for the part of a fireproof partition through which a flammable long object penetrates in a short time, and eliminate a protruding part from the fireproof partition. SOLUTION: A fireproof treatment member 11 composed of a cylindrical unit 12 which is made of plastic, has a flange 14 on its one end and is divided into two, and a heat-expandable fire-resistant material sheet 13 applied to the inner surface of the cylindrical unit 12 is employed. Two fireproof treatment members 11 are inserted into the hole 2 of a fireproof partition through which a flammable long object 5 penetrates from both the ends of the hole 2 so as to surround the flammable long object 5 and positioned with an interval between their inner ends. If a fire occurs on one side of the fireproof partition 1 and the flames spread along the cable 5, the heat-expandable fire-resistant material- sheet 13 is expanded to close the hole 2 and the spread of fire is blocked at that position.
