The template for positioning jamb blocks in a building opening comprises a set of buttresses (1). These include a vertical buttress against which the block end faces are supported and a second vertical buttress (1b) against which the internal or external longitudinal faces these same block are supported. A crosspiece (3) and telescopic rods (2) ensure the buttresses are held vertically in the opening.
