PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display device wherein interference of reflected light does not cause coloring on a reflecting plate, by constituting a rugged scattering reflection electrode in a unit picture element out of plural regions with different standard deviations of inter-center distance distributions between concave or convex parts adjacent to each other. SOLUTION: A rugged scattering reflection electrode is constituted of four regions with different standard deviations of inter-center distance distributions of concave or convex parts (expressed by circle) adjacent to each other. The scattering reflection characteristic largely depends on distances between the convex parts adjacent to each other, and when the concave parts are regularly arranged at a constant distance, the scattering reflection characteristic becomes optimal, however, interference causes coloring. Therefore, a very bright reflection electrode without being colored by interference is obtainable by mixing the regions where distances between adjacent convex parts are almost constant and an optimal scattering reflection characteristic is obtained with the regions where distances between adjacent convex parts are widely uneven. |
