PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized rotary polygon mirror motor and a light deflecting device which can support a rotary polygon mirror on a rotor with less labor and time and cost and with a proper strength. SOLUTION: A cylinder part 22a stood on a mirror support face 22f of a rotor 10 of the rotary polygon mirror is provided with a large-diameter cylinder part 22g and a small-diameter cylinder part 22h on the front end side of the large-diameter cylinder part 22g, and the small-diameter cylinder part 22h is formed to have a reverse taper. The small-diameter cylinder part 22h is inserted to the hollow of an annular part 41a of a retaining spring 41, and a retaining ring 42 having a shape corresponding to the small-diameter cylinder part 22h is retained on the small-diameter cylinder part 22h, and the annular part 41a is brought into contact with the end face on the mirror support face side of the retaining ring 42, and a pressing force to the mirror support face is generated in the retaining spring 41, and the rotary polygon mirror 40 is fixed to the mirror support face 22f by this pressing force. |
