<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance cooling effect by cooling a battery pack at a comparatively early stage of charging and efficiently discharging a large quantity of heat with a same air volume. SOLUTION: In this charging device, a battery pack 2 is charged by inserting it in a charger 6, and is cooled by sending outside air into the battery pack 2 with a fan 12 provided in the charger 6. At the incipient stage of charging, a charging current is set higher than an average current from the beginning till the end of charging, and a current switching means to switch the current over to a lower current than the average current from halfway is provided.</p> |
