PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having excellent charging capacity and a cycle characteristic. SOLUTION: A compound oxide represented by the general formula Li2-x Ax SnO3 (A is alkaline metal having ionic radius larger than that of lithium, 0<x<2) or Li2-y By SnO3 (B is alkaline-earth metals having ionic radius larger than that of lithium, 0<y<2) is used as a positive electrode active material or a negative electrode active material. Here, A is either sodium or potassium, and B is preferably calcium. |
