PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily generate an ICC profile without using an exclusive measuring instrument. SOLUTION: A display control means 31 displays on a display device 14 a dot pattern of a pattern image read out from a pattern image data holding means 30, and a gray level pattern image containing plural variable density patches varying with stepwise changed gradation read out from a gray level image data holding means 32. A user selects the gray level patch of brightness closest to the brightness of the dot pattern image. Aγcoefficient value is calculated by aγcoefficient calculating means 36, based on the selection, and an ICC profile held in a common information holding means 39 is corrected by a profile generating means 38, based on theγcoefficient value to generate the corrected ICC profile.
