PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce video that corresponds to a different kind of a video input. SOLUTION: This system detects three modes of a video input signal and outputs a vertical synchronizing signal, based on the input signal. In a 1st mode (402), a standard video signal is received, and vertical synchronization is decoded by using a scan line counter and is outputted. In a 2nd mode (404) in which signals other than the standard one are received, although the scan line counter cannot be used, vertical synchronization is detected and outputted. In a 3rd mode (400), although the video input signal is not received, vertical synchronization is outputted in a free running mode so as to display an empty screen. |
