PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance capacity density (mAh/cc) per volume and enhance storage characteristic under high temperature environment. SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is constituted with a positive electrode 5 mainly comprising Lix Mn2-x O4 (1<=x<=1.33) belonging to space group Fd3m synthesized by using γ type Li2 MnO3 as the raw material, a negative electrode 4 made of metallic lithium, and a separator 6 impregnated with a nonaqueous electrolyte, interposed between the positive electrode 5 and the negative electrode 4. The capacity density per volume of the positive active material is increased and specific surface area is decreased. |
