PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing method by which a copy image of high image quality, high density and high definition can be obtd. and the life of an electrostatic latent image carrier body can be prolonged. SOLUTION: In this method, an image is developed on a latent image holding body with a developer containing at least a toner and carrier while applying an AC electric field. The method has the following features. (1) The carrier is a resin-coated carrier comprising a magnetic particle core material coated with a resin. The resistivity of the structural material of the coating resin is >=10<0> Ω.cm. The (R2 /R1 ) of the resistance (R2 ) of the resin coated carrier to the resistance (R1 ) of the magnetic particle core material is 10<0.1> to 10<4> . The resistance (R1 ) of the magnetic particle core material is >=10<6.5> Ω.cm. (2) The peak-to-peak voltage (Vpp) of the AC electric field is >=1000 V as the developing condition. |
