SURGICAL METHOD FOR TREATING THE CASES OF OPTIC NERVE ATROPHY, PROGRESSING MYOPIA AND DRY INVOLUTIONAL MACULAR DYSTROPHY

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves making a 6 mm long incision in inferoexterior quadrant 10 mm apart from the limb, conjunctiva and Tenon's capsule. Then, a recess is formed in the area of macular and paramacular zones projection involving zones adjacent to the optic nerve from inferior, superior and external side. Transplant is implanted as a film produced from agricultural animal pericardium having shape of ellipse with a cut positioned symmetrically relative to the long ellipse axis. The transplant is brought through the incision in inferoexterior quadrant of the eye in the macular area projection facing with its unclosed part to medial side. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; low risk of complications. 1 dwg
