An ink jet printer (10) comprises a body frame (16), a plurality of nozzles (30) for jetting ink droplets, a printing head (18) mounted to be capable of reciprocating in predetermined directions in the body frame, an ink reservoir (42) disposed away from the printing head in the body frame, and a duct unit (95) which connects the printing head to the ink reservoir to allow fluid communication therebetween. The duct unit (95) comprises an ink supply passage (44) and a pair of connection members (92, 94) respectively provided on both ends of the ink supply passage, and is connected to the printing head and the ink reservoir through the connection members. Further, the ink jet printer comprises shell structures (66, 70) for positioning in place and detachably holding the duct unit within the body frame so that the duct unit can move while interlocking with a reciprocating action of the printing head.
