The apparatus has a projection module (11) with adjusting elements for adjusting the position of the image projected on the screen (3). The adjusting elements include a swivel bearing (20), which has a fixed position with respect to the back projection apparatus, and is rotatably mounted in the projection module for x and y adjustments. Two x adjustment elements (28,29) are provided for adjustment in the x direction, and two z adjustment elements (30,31) are provided for adjustment in the z direction. An Independent claim is included for method of adjusting a projection module of a back projection apparatus.
