Compositions suitable for the preparation of photodegradable films, bags, bottles and the like comprise a polymer of at least 80 weight per cent of at least oneα-olefin and 0À1 to 2 weight per cent of chromone, flavone or xanthone. The polymer may be polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutene or an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer.
