<p>An image read/write integral head (A) comprising a base (4) which includes first and second side parts (4c, 4d) arranged in the width direction and on which an array of photodetecting elements (2) are arranged in the longitudinal direction, a long case (1) attached to the top of the base (4) and surrounding the photodetecting elements (2), a transparent cover (19) which is fitted to the top of the case (1) and on which a document is moved in contact therewith, a light source (3) disposed in the case and adapted to illuminate the document, a lens (5) disposed in the case and adapted to form an image of the document (D) over the photodetecting elements (2), and an array of printing elements (8) arranged on the top of an overlapping part which allows the first side (4c) to overlap from the lower part of the case (1) over a predetermined width, the transparent cover (19) being so inclined that the distance from the base (4) increases toward the first side part (4c).</p> |
