<p>Mechanically actuated dermatome, comprising a cutting blade (31), a mechanism for imparting to the blade an alternating or continuous motion, and a part constituting or comprising a handle (11) to be gripped by the operator in order to control the dermatome, the handle (11) being substantially perpendicular to the plane of the cutting blade (31). The part constituting or comprising the handle (11) is hollow, the mechanism for imparting to the blade an alternating or continuous motion comprises a motor (22) and kinematic means for transforming the rotation or linear movement of the shaft (20) of the motor (22) into rectilinear alternating motion of a straight blade or continuous motion of a round strip or tape-like blade (31), and the motor (22) is housed in the hollow handle (11) with its shaft substantially perpendicular to the plane of the cutting blade. The cutting blade (31) is enclosed in a housing which has a lowermost surface that rides on the skin during treatment, the lower surface being essentially parallel to the plane of the cutting part of the blade (31) and the handle (11) is substantially perpendicular to it and directed upwards when the dermatome rests on the lowermost surface of the blade housing. The lowermost surface that rides on the skin during treatment is smooth, without any protrusion that may interfere with its movement in any direction with respect to the skin. A cover (27) is provided with attachments for locking into the handle with or without a power pack and locking onto the power pack or releasing it, without contaminating the external sterile surface of the dermatome.</p> |
