<p>A method of subjecting an ink jet printer provided with a reciprocatingly movable printing head (16) having a plurality of ink droplet ejecting nozzles (28), an ink storage member (40) and an ink supply conduit (42) connecting the printing head to the ink storage member. Before the ink jet printer (10) is shipped from a factory, an ink flow passage as a whole including the ink supply conduit (42) is filled with a colored liquid material (78) capable of retaining the hydrophilic property of the ink flow passage. Before the ink jet printer is handed over to a user, printing using the colored liquid material (78) is carried out by the printing head (16), and characters printed with the colored liquid material are identified, whereby the printing function of the ink jet printer is judged.</p> |
