Water treatment basin mixes and disperses two or more phases, especially by the introduction of gas into liquids and suspensions. The assembly has a body (1, 1a, 1b) incorporating a mass of pores into which a first gas phase is introduced and distributed. The pored body (1, 1a, 1b) is rotated essentially about a vertical axis, allowing the first phase to emerge from the pores as tiny bubbles. The first phase is finely distributed within the second esp. liquid phase. The rotating body (1, 1a, 1b) is a porous ceramic, porous metal or plastic body.
