The switch, oscillator and motor unit incorporate a ferromagnetic ceramic or metal alloys which exhibits the Curie effect, i.e. is magnetic below, and non-magnetic above one specific temperature. The Curie temperature dependents on the specific materials and ranges from below 100 deg C to above 1000 deg C. In the switch and oscillator, magnetism is used to move a contact against a non-magnetic spring. The motor has a crankshaft (12) rotated through connecting rods (14) by the alternating magnetic attraction between a soft iron plate (2) and Curie effect pistons (1) which move between hotter (10) and cooler (13) zones of the cylinders.
