1336083 Preparation of p-aminophenol and its ethers RHONE-POULENC SA 17 Jan 1972 [18 Jan 1971] 2183/72 Heading C2C A process for the continuous preparation of p-aminophenol and an ether of Formula I: wherein R represents a (C 2-4 ) alkyl radical, comprises reacting a mixture of p-nitrosophenol and an alcohol of formula ROH, wherein R is as hereinbefore defined, in the presence of an etherification catalyst with continuous removal of water from the mixture by distillation to form a reaction product, and catalytically hydrogenating the reaction product to form a mixture of p-aminophenols and the ether of Formula I. |
