<p>A textile laminate (20) for use in protective clothing is disclosed which has a waterproof and water vapour permeable functional layer (40) and at least one textile layer (30) laminated onto one side of said functional layer (40). The textile layer (30) is made from a yarn (295) which is a cover-core yarn (295) and has a core (300) made from a core fibre having a high longitudinal tensile strength and a sheath (310) made from sheath material having high abrasion resistance. The core fibre (300) is selected from the group of fibres comprising aramid fibres, polyamide fibres, polyethylene, graphite, glass, steel or polytetrafluoroethylene fibre and is preferably a para-aramid fibre. The sheath material (310) is selected from the group of materials comprising polyamides, polyester or cotton and is preferably polyamide 6.6. The functional layer (40) of the textile laminate (20) is selected from the group of materials consisting of polyesters, polyamide, polyolefins, polyvinylchloride, polyketones, polysulfones, polycarbonates, fluoropolymers including polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyacrylates, polyurethanes, copolyetheresters, copolyetheramides and is preferably expanded PTFE having a water vapour transmission rate (Ret) of less than 150 m<2>.Pa/W and preferably less than 20 m<2>.Pa/W. The water entry pressure of the textile laminate (20) is greater than 0.13 bar and preferably greater than 2,7 bar. <IMAGE></p> |
