AROMATIC AMINE DERIVATIVES AS PHARMACEUTICAL AGENTS

Aromatic amines of formula (1) are described: wherein Az is an optionally substituted monocyclic six-membered nitrogen-containing aromatic group; L<1> is a linker atom or group; R is a carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof; and R<5> is a group -L<2>(CH2)tR<6> in which L<2> is a -N(R<7>)CO- or -N(R<7>)CS- group. The compounds are able to inhibit the binding of alpha 4 integrins to their ligands and are of use in the prophylaxis and treatment of immune or inflammatory disorders.
